Neighborhood Team Work
Posted on Apr 26th, 2011

I'm a firm believer that if  you want a good quality of life, it's going to require a certain amount of trust in our neighbors. That's a tough deal in today's world sometimes. But, here in Morton Plantation, we have some really great people who are worth trusting. When we trust others, we're able to know them and they know us better. That makes for actually a great quality of life.
I think serving each other is one way to develop as a trusting neighborhood. Getting out there to do something for a neighbor or the whole 'hood shows a common care that more neighborhoods need.
Would you consider serving 10 minutes a day, for one or two weeks this summer on the Pool Team? It's as simple as dropping by to open or close it before after hours. We have a simple list of to do items that require very little effort, but that when all said and done, make a very big difference in our quality of life as a community.
If that doesn't work for you, how about meeting up with a few of us this Saturday morning from 10am until noon to wash the deck, clean the bathrooms, and wash the furniture. I'll have the tunes cranking and drinks for all who can pitch in. Teenagers welcome!
Hope to see you or hear from,
Todd Colwell
PS. This can be counted as community service hours for our boy scouts and girl scouts. It can also be used toward the community service hours you need to get the extra points added to your Social Studies grade for students at TRMS.
